Round shopper basket workshop
Available spots
Service Description
There’s something special about carrying a basket you made yourself. A willow shopper isn’t just practical — it becomes part of everyday life. Used for market mornings, gathering vegetables from the garden, carrying books, blankets, or bits and pieces home from town. Strong enough to be useful, beautiful enough to last for years. Our Willow Shopper Workshop is a relaxed and hands-on day of traditional basket weaving, where you’ll learn how to create your own handmade willow shopper basket from natural willow using time-honoured techniques. Throughout the workshop, we’ll guide you step by step through the weaving process as your basket gradually takes shape in your hands. From building the base to weaving the sides and shaping the handle, you’ll leave with a finished basket that’s both sturdy and completely unique to you. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone wanting to spend a day immersed in traditional craft. The atmosphere is informal, welcoming, and intentionally intimate, allowing plenty of guidance and a more personal experience throughout the day. All materials and tools are provided, along with tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep everyone going while the weaving gets underway. Just bring a packed lunch and enjoy a creative day working with natural materials in good company. There’s a quiet satisfaction in making something useful from scratch — something woven slowly by hand that will continue to be part of your everyday life long after the workshop ends. Spaces are intentionally limited to keep the workshop personal, relaxed, and hands-on for everyone attending.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy A deposit of €20 is required to secure your place at the workshop. This deposit is treated as an advance payment towards the total workshop fee and is generally non‑refundable if you cancel or do not attend, to reflect our preparation costs and materials already committed for your session. Rescheduling More than 14 days before the workshop date: You may request to reschedule to another available date, subject to availability. If approved, your €20 deposit will be transferred to the new date. 14 days or fewer before the workshop date: If you request to reschedule, we may be unable to offer an alternative date. In this case, your €20 deposit may be retained to cover non‑refundable preparation costs. Cancellations More than 14 days before the workshop date: You may cancel your booking. In most cases, your €20 deposit can be transferred to a new date at our discretion, rather than being refunded. 14 days or fewer before the workshop date: If you cancel, we may be entitled to retain the €20 deposit to cover costs already incurred, including soaked and prepared willow and instructor time committed to your workshop. No‑shows If you do not attend your workshop and have not given prior notice, we may treat this as a late cancellation and retain the €20 deposit under the same conditions. Preparation costs Because willow preparation begins 7 days before each workshop, last‑minute cancellations or no‑shows may prevent us from recovering preparation costs. The €20 deposit helps to cover these reasonable, non‑refundable costs. Your rights Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under Irish or EU consumer‑protection law, including any right to cancel where such a right applies.
